Carnival of Sines 2024

SINES CARNIVAL 2024 The Sines Carnival returns to the city between 9 and 14 February 2024.

The street party kicks off on the 9th, Friday, at 10:00 AM, on Av. General Humberto Delgado, with the 31st edition of the Carnaval dos Pequeninos, organised by the Sines Parish Council. On the same day, the Noite da Matrafona will take place in the historic centre, an initiative by Ferro & Fogo.

Fun Through the Days

Saturday, the 10th, at 11:00 AM, Their Majesties The King and Queen of Carnaval de Sines will arrive at Largo dos Galegos and parade through the historic centre. At 3:00 PM, there will be a senior masked ball at the Sines Parish Council pavilion, which is organising the event. At 9:30 PM, the balls will open at the Sports Pavilion, with an electronic ball until morning featuring Pack 7, DJ LC, Ribeiro, Rui Duarte and Stony.

Carnival Parades and Balls

The first carnival parade on Av. General Humberto Delgado takes place at 3:30 PM on Sunday, February 11th. From 10:00 PM, the dancing resumes at the Sports Pavilion with a ball hosted by the band Pack 7.

Monday, 12th February, is the day of the always special illuminated carnival parade, at 9:00 PM, on Avenida General Humberto Delgado. The ball at the Sports Pavilion begins at 11:30 PM, again to the sound of Banda Pack 7.

Carnival on Tuesday and Beyond

Carnival Day itself, Tuesday, 13 February, features a carnival parade on the avenue at 3:30 pm and a ball in the pavilion at 9:30 pm.

The Entrudo burial takes place on Ash Wednesday, February 14th, starting at 9:30 PM, with a procession through the city streets, beginning at the Water Deposit and ending at Largo Poeta Bocage.

Between 1 and 17 February, Carnival is also present at the Sines Arts Centre with an exhibition about the event.

The Sines Carnival is organised by the Sines Carnival Association, with the support of the Sines Municipal Council, among other entities.
