Match: Pessegueiro Island Beach (Porto Covo)
Arrival: Franquia Beach (V.N. Milfontes)

BEFORE THE MATCH

Put all the boats together on the beach, in the area marked by the flags placed by the
organisation. The athletes will have to traverse the sand and place the boats only there
area. We appreciate everyone's cooperation, as we are in the bathing season.

BRIEFING for all athletes on the beach at 13:15.

MATCH

Three starts:
● All SUPC, OC1 and OC6 - 13:45
• All SS1 – 14:00
• Mon SS2 – 14:02

Water start between 2 motorboats.

ROUTE (DURING THE EXAM)

After the match, the athletes must circle a motor boat that will be anchored and with
a Federation flag (at a distance of roughly 2 km from the start). Patrol,
leaving the motorboat to the port side and rowing south.

There will be a yellow buoy at the entrance to the river – at the mouth in Vila Nova de Milfontes – which serves
to signal “falling rocks”. This buoy SHALL to be rounded and left to the left of
athlete, to avoid collision with the rocks.

ARRIVALS

Arrival will be in front of Franquia beach between a yellow buoy and the wooden pier
that is on the beach.

SECURITY

MANDATORY: WEARING A LIFE JACKET AND LEASH (SAFETY CORD) ELASTIC, WITH A QUICK ATTACH/RELEASE SYSTEM BY KARABINER OR VELCRO, WHICH ATTACHES THE ATHLETE TO THE BOAT BETWEEN THE KNEE AND THE ANKLE – 1 PER VESSEL. THE LEASH MUST BE SECURED TO AN ATTACHMENT POINT RESISTING ON BOARD. USE OF GPS TRACKING PROVIDED BY THE ORGANISATION. THE LATTER MUST BE DELIVERED AT THE END OF THE COMPETITION.

There will be a yellow buoy at the entrance of the river – at the mouth – which serves to signal “danger of
Rochas”. This buoy SHALL to be rounded and left to the athlete's left, to avoid collision
with the rocks.

For safety, a jet ski will be stationed at the river entrance – at the mouth – to provide assistance, should [it be needed]
an athlete has difficulties and needs to be rescued.

Each vessel will be issued with the usual bib (to wear) and also a bib for
come alongside the starboard bow.

ON-SITE PARKING

There will be a reserved car park for club vans and trailers.

An area of land in front of the beach is reserved for club vans and trailers,
Franchise in Milfontes (opposite the arrival point, next to the HS hotel).

PRIZE GIVING AND FOOD DISTRIBUTION (hog roast and sardines)

At 16:30 we will begin the prize-giving during the afternoon tea.

Other Information

At the end of the race, near the finish line, there will be members of the organisation collecting the
bibs and the GPS units. We would appreciate your help with this collection. The bibs and/or GPS units that
any costs for items that are not delivered will be charged to the athletes/clubs carrying them
equipment.

There are public changing rooms and toilets at the start and finish area (see map). Athletes
they will be able to shower in the public changing rooms in V.N. Milfontes after finishing the
test.

There is an equipment wash point near the arrival enclosure (see sketch).

Preparation of the test venue.

During this period, for clubs/athletes who do not have a driver for the vehicle during the race, we advise leaving the surfskis at the start location (Ilha do Pessegueiro beach). They can be left on the beach, in the area designated for placing the boats.
Vehicle drivers must, after unloading the material, drop off the vans and trailers in Vila Nova de Milfontes (arrival) and wait for transport to return to the departure point (Praia da Ilha do Pessegueiro). Departure of the transport from Vila Nova de Milfontes to the departure beach, Praia da Ilha do Pessegueiro.
Athlete transport is not guaranteed. Transport is only for drivers who have booked in advance with the organisation. Collection of race numbers and GPS tracking devices, at Ilha do Pessegueiro beach (start beach), next to the organisation/referees.

Each athlete is responsible for collecting their bib number and GPS. Prize-giving ceremony and free snack (spit-roasted pig and sardines) for all participants.
