Grândola Chocolate Fair

Chef Chocolatier Daniel Gomes, author of “Glorius,” the world's most expensive praline, will visit Grândola to share his journey of excellence and his art with the fair's visitors. Daniel Gomes will close the Showcooking area on Sunday. This area of excellence at the fair will also feature the participation of six other renowned chefs: Céu Carvalho, Paula Baluga, Re Monteiro, and the trio Manuel Alexandre, Tony Salgado, and Valdemar Onofre.

This year, the Fair features over fifty exhibitors for sales and showcases, with chocolate as the main ingredient, taverns offering regional dishes, street food, and a comfortable and expanded leisure area. The wineries that are part of AVPCA and the wine offerings from the Pinheiro da Cruz Prison Establishment, which harmonise perfectly with chocolate-based delicacies, are one of the highlights of this edition. The Belgian brand Leonidas, one of the most renowned in the world of chocolates, also participates.

Master chocolatier Marlene Alexandre returns to Grândola with her art of working with chocolate. Over the three days of the event, Marlene Alexandre and her team will sculpt the megaphone – the image of the 50th anniversary celebrations of April 25th in Grândola, created by André Carrilho – out of chocolate.

The musical concerts are by ROSINHA and BOCA DOCE.

ROSINHA, a household name, takes to the stage on the first night. The irreverent way she presents herself in public, mixed with her high level of humility and sensitivity, means she maintains an excellent and unique, complicit relationship with all her devoted fans. Whether in Portugal or abroad, ROSINHA and her inseparable accordion are synonymous with joy, good cheer, and above all, great fun.

On Saturday, BOCA DOCE will be performing, a musical group formed by current and former members of prominent bands on the Portuguese rock scene such as: Aside; Fiona At 40; Primitive Reason; Summer of Damien and Micky Eight. They will star in a cheerful, lively, fun and good-natured show, throughout which they will parade Californian Rock/Punk-Rock covers of various established Portuguese artists, such as: Marco Paulo; António Variações; Doce; GNR; Adelaide Ferreira; José Cid and many others!

The reinforcement of the travelling animation programme is another of the Municipality's commitments. Street theatre promises to capture visitors“ attention daily with the companies: Malatitsch, Água no Deserto, Estátua Viva and Uh!Topia. Circus and fire shows, the Caravana – Projeto EZ Installation and the ”1 MILHÃO" – Enano Street Show complete the street entertainment that will be a constant throughout the Fair's opening hours, which also features a Creative Workshop with daily activities for the younger ones, carousels and inflatables.

As in previous years, the Chocolate Fair programme also includes “Chocolate and Saint Martin's Gastronomic Weeks”. The gastronomic initiative will take place from 1 to 11 November in participating restaurants in the municipality.
