Volta ao Alentejo by bicycle passes through Grândola

The Volta ao Alentejo cycling race takes place from 16 to 20 March and Grândola will host a Intermediate Sprint of the 1st Stage of the race, which connects Vendas Novas to Sines, over a route 177 km in length.

On the 16th, the cyclists are expected to pass at 14:00 near the CMG building on Rua Dr. José Pereira Barradas. The peloton will enter our municipality via Água Derramada, passing through the village of Justa, Avenida António Inácio da Cruz, Rua D. Nuno Álvares Pereira, Rua do Bocage, and Avenida Jorge Nunes towards the Intermediate Sprint (Meta Volante), with the cyclists then heading towards Santa Margarida da Serra.

The Municipality of Grândola is supporting the 39th Tour of Alentejo Cycling Race, one of Alentejo's leading sporting events, this year featuring 133 registered cyclists representing 19 teams, 6 of which are foreign. It will comprise 5 stages. The race is organised by Podium Events.
