August Fair – The Great Summer Festival

The great Alentejo Coast Fair opens its doors on August 24th. The event is a place for socialising, entertainment and showcasing the municipality's potential, attracting thousands of visitors.

24 to 28 August

Big names from national and international music on the main stage. Wet Bed Gang, Karetus, Carolina Deslandes, Gipsy Kings by Diego Baliardo, SMFOG invites TIM and Calema.

On the first night, intended for a younger audience, it begins with Wet Bed Gang and concludes with Karetus. On the second night, Carolina Deslandes will take to the main stage of the Feira de Agosto for a concert where she will present her greatest hits and more recent works.

The party, rhythm and dancing are guaranteed on Saturday with Gipsy Kings by Diego Baliardo. The band, with millions of albums sold worldwide, has won over several generations with their infectious music, which includes major hits such as “Djobi Djoba”, “Bamboléo” and “Volare”, among others.

On the 27th, the Fraternidade Operária Grandolense Musical Society Band invites Tim for a thrilling show. The performance promises to stir emotions with the sound of Tim's hits, such as "Cabeças no Ar" and "Rio Grande," and those of Xutos e Pontapés.

The closing of the event is the responsibility of the musical duo from São Tomé and Príncipe. Calema, authors and performers of great hits such as “A Nossa vez”, “Onde Anda” or “Te Amo”, will close the August Fair on the 28th.

More music and entertainment on the premises

The excitement is guaranteed on the fairgrounds from Thursday to Monday from 8:30 PM with Super Rua, Marchinha do Botequim, Fanfarra Bizarra, d’Fiesta and Babosa Brass Band, respectively.

From Funk to Rock and, what's more, with an incredible tribute to one of today's biggest bands, Palco Bar is the (un)expected recipe for three days where fun and rhythm will be the golden key!

The first concert on the Bar Stage takes place on the 25th and is by Funkoff with Jéssica Cipriano, on the 26th the cover band Mr. Bones takes to the stage and on the 27th there's The Coldplay Tribute with David Ripado.

Territorial promotion and council development

In the Municipal Area, between the exhibitor pavilions, there is an exhibition portraying the development of the municipality with a focus on Nature, Environment, Sport and Youth. In the exhibitor pavilions are the main economic players of the municipality.

More safety, greater convenience and accessibility at one of the largest free fairs in the country

The Fair has 200 stallholders and 16 attractions for adults and children, including the Dodgems and “The Big Panic”. The space has been reorganised with a new avenue, ensuring safety and convenience for everyone.

Improvements implemented at the Fair include reinforcement of the electrical grid and Wi-Fi. The Baby Space was also created for the convenience of parents and children, catering to the little ones' needs.
During the event, the Municipality of Grândola will provide two “Fair Trains” free of charge to transport visitors. The trains will run between the August Fair and various strategic points in the town.
