7th Edition – Serra de Grândola Ultra Trail
O UTSG – Ultra Trail Serra de Grândola is a trail running event, organised by Grândola Municipality and by Amiciclo Club, with the support of the council's associative movement.
The competitions take place mostly along existing trails and paths in the Serra de Grândola in three distances: Ultra Trail 43km, Long Trail 26km, Short Trail 13.5km, and Walk 11km.

Terms and Conditions of Participation
Age to take the test
- TRAIL ULTRA – from 18 years old.
- LONG TRAIL– from 18 years old.
- Short trail– from the age of 16, with the requirement to hand in the “Parental Consent Form for a Minor Athlete” signed by the legal guardian, document made available on the registration platform.
- Hike– no minimum age, provided that those under 15 are accompanied by a responsible adult.

- The act of registration and subsequent payment implies full acceptance of these regulations and their participation conditions.

Physical conditions
- The UTSG – Ultra Trail Serra de Grândola, is an event that takes place mostly on trails and paths with steep climbs and sharp descents, which makes it especially tough and requires participating athletes to have some prior experience in trail running competitions. Athletes should possess a high level of physical preparation and know how to manage their physical and mental exertion.
Help
- Any external assistance, except in emergency situations, will lead to the disqualification of the athletes involved.
Bib placement
- Each athlete will be assigned a number, which must be worn visibly on the front of their clothing at all times during the competition.
Organisation
The O UTSG – Ultra Trail Serra de Grândola is a trail running event, organised by the Municipality of Grândola and the Clube Amiciclo, with the support of the local associative movement. The secretariat, all starts and all finishes, as well as the Prize-giving ceremony, take place in Grândola, at the José Afonso Municipal Sports Complex and surrounding areas.

DISTANCE / ALTITUDE
- The competitions take place mainly along existing trails and paths in the Serra de Grândola, with three distances: 43km, 26km, and 13.5km.
- The 43km and 2300m D+ race is considered an Ultra Trail race.
- The 26km and 1300m D+ race is considered a long-distance trail race.
- The 13.5km and 400m D+ race is considered a Short Trail race.
- The Walk will be approximately 11km, with a marked route and free pace.
ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS / ALTITUDE PROFILE
- The routes will be marked with yellow flagging tape specifically for this purpose. In addition to the tape, the route marking will be reinforced with chalk on the ground and informative and directional signs will be placed, indicating dangerous zones and the distances covered or remaining to the finish line.
- Due to the weather conditions in the days leading up to the event, it may be necessary to alter parts of the routes in order to guarantee the safety of the participating athletes.

Time limit
- To complete the Ultra Trail: 8:30
- To complete the Long Trail: 6h
- To complete the Short Trail: 3h
Time Recording Methodology
- Electronic time recording will be carried out.
- Time checks will be carried out at the start, at intermediate points on the course and at the finish line.
- The No Trail Ultra will have cut-off times at 2 checkpoints (to be defined shortly). Athletes who do not pass these points within the defined time limit will not be able to continue in the race, for safety reasons (it gets dark from 5:00 PM onwards).
SUPPLIES AND THEIR LOCATION (brief location information)
- The Ultra Trail will have 5 aid stations
- The Long Trail will have 3 aid stations
- The Short Trail will have 1 aid station
- The walk will have 1 refuelling stop
MANDATORY MATERIAL / MATERIAL CHECK
- The organisation will carry out checks and verification of mandatory equipment during the entry of all participants into the TRAIL ULTRA, on chip activation (km 0).
- Should it be found that the athlete does not have all the items mentioned below, will be prevented from participating in the competition (the registration fee not being refunded)

- Backpack with a water reservoir or a belt with water bottle holders or a canteen, with a minimum capacity of 1 litre. The organisers will not provide any type of container for athletes to refill.

- Backpack with water reservoir, or bottle carrier belt, or water bottle, or cup.
The organisation will not provide athletes with any type of container for them to refuel.

INFORMATION REGARDING PASSAGE IN AREAS WITH ROAD TRAFFIC
- Urban start and finish controlled by the organisation and authorities, with routing onto the gravel race courses.
- When the event takes place on the road, athletes should proceed on the verge and in single file.
- There will be elements of organisation in the most critical and error-prone locations (evidence separation, road crossing, etc.).
PENALTIES / DISQUALIFICATIONS / WITHDRAWALS
- Athletes must comply with these regulations and adopt appropriate sporting and environmental conduct.
- Inappropriate behaviour, offensive language, verbal or physical aggression will result in the immediate disqualification of the athlete.
- The penalties to be applied will be decided by the technical team responsible for the competition, depending on the seriousness of the infringement.
- Athletes must complete the entirety of the course, otherwise they will be disqualified.
- Athletes must comply with the organisation's instructions, or risk disqualification.
- In case of withdrawal, athletes are required to inform the first member of the organisation they encounter.
Responsibilities to Athletes
- The event organisers undertake to provide necessary assistance to the athletes, offering first aid if required and facilitating transport to the finish line.
- The organisation accepts no responsibility for accidents, negligence, or theft of any items and/or valuables belonging to participating athletes.
Sports Insurance
- Personal accident insurance is provided to all participating athletes in the event, in accordance with current legislation, and civil liability insurance, regardless of whether the athletes are covered by other types of insurance.

Entries for the Ultra Trail, Long Trail, Short Trail and the Walk will be made online at: www.werun.pt
Registrations will be limited to:
- 100 Participants in the Ultra Trail (43km);
- 200 Participants in the Long Trail (26km);
- 300 Participants in the Short Trail (13.5km);
- 150 Participants on the Walk (11 km).
- Registrations are available until all spaces are filled or until 23:59 on Tuesday, 25th October.

TERMS FOR REFUNDING THE REGISTRATION FEE
- The registration fee is non-refundable, except in the case of unforeseen circumstances leading to the cancellation of the event.

EXAMINATION SECRETARIAT / TIMETABLES AND VENUES
- At the time of dorsal collection, it is mandatory to present identification.
- The race secretariat will operate at the José Afonso Municipal Sports Complex on Saturday, November 5th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, November 6th from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
Location and award ceremony time
- The awards ceremony will be held from 13:00, for all distances, at the southern end of 1º de Maio Garden.

INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM AWARDS
- Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 athletes in each category and the top 3 athletes overall for men and women, in the Ultra Trail, Long Trail and Short Trail.
- Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 teams in the Ultra Trail, Long Trail, and Short Trail categories.
- A team is made up of a minimum of 4 athletes.
- For the purposes of team classification, the sum of the times of the first 3 athletes from each team who finish the race will be considered.
- A prize will be awarded to the team with the most participants to finish, across the sum of the 3 Trail races.
Deadlines for claims
- Any complaints or protests regarding the published classifications must be submitted in writing to the event's technical team, at the Secretariat, no later than 15 minutes after the results are posted.
IMAGE RIGHTS AND PRIVACY (DATA PROTECTION)
- Acceptance of these regulations implies, mandatorily, that the athlete authorises the UTSG organising body to record their participation in the event, in whole or in part. It also presumes their authorisation for the UTSG organisation to use the athlete's image for the promotion and dissemination of the event in all its forms (radio, print media, video, photography, internet, posters, social media, etc.) and assigns all rights to its commercial and advertising exploitation that it deems appropriate to undertake, without the athlete having the right to receive any financial compensation.
- The data of the athletes indicated on the registration form will be recorded by the UTSG organising body for processing and invoicing purposes. It will also be recorded for the future dissemination of events under the organisational responsibility of the Municipality of Grândola.
